It is probable that the
ruffians who have captured all the commanding heights of science will retain control
for a further decade or more, but this is difficult to predict, as Professor
Alex Yakovlev said to us about the sudden end of the USSR. Recent behaviour – Peer Reviewed attacks on scientists by
careerists - might indicate cracks in the armory of the forces ranged against
scientific advance. http://www.ivorcatt.co.uk/x311a.htm
. Betrayal of the ruffians by Professor Bruce Charlton is another crack. http://corruption-of-science.blogspot.com/ ; http://www.ivorcatt.co.uk/x66j.pdf
. A further crack is “Ned Smith”, a PhD student, reporting that his
supervisor warned him to erase all referenced to cattq
or his IEEE “research” salary would dry up.
Kuhn failed to point out the
damage caused by the catastrophe of major scientific advance. Now that science
is much more professionalised, with major money and
reputations at stake, the defences have developed to
such an extent that even the minor advance; “A capacitor is a transmission
line”, is suppressed. It cannot be published in peer reviewed journals or
taught in universities or schools. http://www.ivorcatt.co.uk/x3b2.pdf
. Similarly the nonsense about the alleged “self-resonant
frequency of a capacitor*. https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/1135992
, http://www.ivorcatt.com/2603.htm
.
Generally, the date 1960 is
given as when science in general came to an end. http://www.ivorcatt.co.uk/x59596.htm
. Then in 1965, the appearance of high speed logic presented a massive threat
to academics involved in electromagnetic theory, the core of science, http://www.ivorcatt.co.uk/x0102em.htm
, and they formed a laager against its implications, to such an extent that 40
years later none of the content of our 1979 Macmillan book “Digital Hardware
Design” has gained access to any university course or text book in the world. http://www.ivorcatt.org/digital-hardware-design.htm
. High speed digital computers spawned research which exposed internal
contradictions in classical electromagnetism, which are still covered up.
It is unfortunate for any
professional “scientist” – professor or text book writer - if he comes up
against a major scientific advance. The real scientist who made a major
breakthrough should not be blamed for the resulting damage to careers and
reputations. As a scientist, he has to try to force his advance through the
understandable opposition. The first attempt was our article “Displacement
Current”, which pointed to a fatal oversight in classical electromagnetism. http://www.ivorcatt.org/icrwiworld78dec1.htm
. Although there were replies or comments, this failed to gain traction. http://www.ivorcatt.co.uk/x18j34.pdf
. Generally, our observation that a charging capacitor did not have a uniform
electric field was ignored.
I waited for many years, until
the opportunities arose for me to cause top administrators to select their top
experts and instruct them to comment on cattq, http://www.ivorcatt.co.uk/cattq.htm
. Their answers totally contradicted
each other. Some said the charge came from the west, others said it came from
the south. They refused to discuss their disagreement with each other or with
us.
I had uniquely given up
promoting my work, which was blocked by all peer reviewed journals in the world
for fifty years, (but heavily published in non-peer reviewed journals, http://www.ivorcatt.co.uk/x18j1.htm
) and resorted to asking for clarification of the reigning theory, the theory
within the canon. My request was called “The Catt Question”, cattq. Everyone saw the danger, and refused to comment in
writing. They all presumably could see that the Question pointed to a fatal
flaw in the canon, classical electromagnetism. http://www.ivorcatt.co.uk/cattq.htm
. There the matter rested for some decades, until leading experts were selected
by their bosses and instructed to write to me about cattq. Pepper pointed out that the charge could not
come from the west, http://www.ivorcatt.co.uk/2812.htm
; “As
the wave travels at light velocity, then charge supplied from outside the system
would have to travel at light velocity as well, which is clearly impossible.
…. “ , and Pieraccini
pointed out that it could not come from the south. http://www.ivorcatt.co.uk/x54c.pdf
, “…. Besides some wrong explanations (e.g. Pepper) incompatible with
Gauss’ Law, …. “ . But for a TEM step to
successfully travel down a USB cable from your computer to your printer, the
negative charge had to get there.
A few decades later, “Publish
or Perish” came to the rescue in the form of a gang of three co-authoring
Florence professors, including one IEEE Editor. By now Catt was probably dead,
and there was an opportunity to add to their several counts of over 100 peer
reviewed articles by dancing on the grave of Catt and Cattq.
This in spite of the fact that one of them, in his novel “L’anomalia”,
warned that nobody should get involved in Catt or Cattq
or it would damage his career and reputation. http://www.ivorcatt.co.uk/x6611.htm
. They misrepresented Cattq and comprehensively
defamed Catt.
