The challenge Catt

In June 1993, "Electronics World" and "Wireless World", two of the most important electronic engineering magazines, hosted a provocative ad signed by Ivor Catt intitulato "The Catt's challenge (The Catt challenge). The communiqué said:" It needed a new initiative to get out of stagnation in which it is today electromagnetism. La sfida di Catt

Nel giugno 1993 "Electronics World" e "Wireless World", due delle piu importanti riviste di ingegneria elettronica, ospitarono un provocatorio annuncio a firma di Ivor Catt intitulato "The Catt's challenge (La sfida di Catt). Il communicato diceva: "E necessaria una nuova iniziativa per uscire dalla situazione di ristagno in cui si trova oggi l'elettromagnetismo. Io sono probabilmente la persona piu nota che lavori nel campo, ma nessuno dei competenti ammettera mai di aver sentito parlare o letto qualcosa delle mie teorie, ne vorra esporsi a commentari favorevolmente o sfavorevolmente. In particolare nessuno ammettera di aver sentito parlare dell' "anomalia di Catt", che ho reso nel 1987, e sulla quale fondo le mie argomentazioni. Di conseguenza non puo nemmeno essere sollevata la questione se i libri di testo e i corsi di insegnamento universitari debbano essere modificato o no. Per questo motivo ho deciso di instituire un fondo per la difesa della teoria dell'elettromagnetismo classico nell'intento di rimuovere un ostacolo che e in piedi ormai da piu di un decennio.
