The
New Event.
Never before in the history of science has it been alleged that the mathematical derivation of something which is real was wrongly thought to be also real.
Wikipedia
says; ∇ . D = ρ
This is today’s obscure way of saying that electric
field terminates on electric charge.
This is put much more simply elsewhere in Wikipedia;
In words, Gauss's law states that:
The net outward normal electric
flux through any closed
surface is proportional to the total electric
charge enclosed within that closed surface.[3]
The
unprecedented assertion is that in ∇ . D = ρ ,
the electric flux D is real, but the electric charge ρ
is not . Its discovery was made on 26 May 1976 .
Let us consider a Transverse Electromagnetic step
travelling at the speed of light for the dielectric guided by two conductors. http://www.ivorcatt.co.uk/cattq.htm
. By definition, electric and magnetic fields are in the vertical plane at
right angles to the direction of travel. Text books do not contain the
important and instructive Figures 4 and 5 in http://www.ivorcatt.co.uk/1_2.htm
. The field patterns are shown here. http://www.ivorcatt.co.uk/x41m.pdf
. These field patterns were only published in two text books throughout the 20th
century, and it appears that professors and text book writers have a poor grasp
of them. Thus, in Figure 5 of http://www.ivorcatt.org/x121.pdf
, they do not know that the amount of energy entering the blue square equals
the amount of energy entering the red square. They are blinded by a deluge of dubious mathematics
which has doubtful
physical basis . If the dielectric is vacuum, the impedance the energy
confronts when entering a square is 377 ohms, √(µ0/Ɛ0).
Thus, in Figure 5 of http://www.ivorcatt.org/x121.pdf
, the energy travelling between the two conductors confronts 16 columns in
parallel of eight 377 ohm resistors in series. So the characteristic impedance
of the transmission line is 377 x (8/16) = 189 ohms. In the case of http://www.ivorcatt.co.uk/x41m.pdf
,
the figure is 377 x (12/12), or 377 ohms.
