Είδα
τον κ. Catt στην
κλινική μου
στο St Albans σήμερα . Όπως
γνωρίζετε,
έχει μια μακρά
ιστορία της
πρόκλησης
προβλημάτων
από μια
αυθόρμητη ρήξη
το 2007. Ήταν
υπό την
φροντίδα του Jeremy
Livingstone για μεγάλο
χρονικό διάστημα
και τώρα έχει
παρασύρει πάνω
να εξεταστούν
μετά από εμένα
και τον Τόνι Leahy
στην Watford . Είχε
πολλές
διατάσεις του
οισοφάγου και
ενέσεις
στεροειδών και
μια-δυο εβδομάδες
πριν, θα
εισαχθεί το
δεύτερο
βιοαποικοδομήσιμο
stent του.
Τον
είδα στην
κλινική σήμερα
για να ελέγξει
πόσο κάνει και
είμαι στην
ευχάριστη θέση
να αναφέρουν την
κατάποση του
είναι πλέον
τέλεια
δεδομένου ότι
το stent πήγε in
Κάποιος θα
μπορούσε να
είναι πολύ αισιόδοξο
και δείχνουν
ότι αυτό
μπορεί να
αποτελέσει μια
θεραπεία για 6
χρόνια
μακροχρόνιο
πρόβλημα του,
και σίγουρα
θα ελπίζω ότι
αυτό θα ήταν η
περίπτωση, αλλά
πρέπει να
έχουμε κατά
νου ότι είχε
ένα stent πριν και
πολλές
διατάσεις και
βιώνει συχνά
βραχυπρόθεσμη
ανακούφιση των
συμπτωμάτων
του, πριν από
την κατάποση
του
επιδεινώνεται
και πάλι .
Έχω
κανονίσει να
έχουν μια άλλη
ματιά κάτω
ακριβώς πριν
πάει για
διακοπές στην
Ιταλία για 6
εβδομάδες με
σκοπό την
διαστολή του ,
εάν είναι
απαραίτητο,
αλλά αν είναι
εντελώς καλά
πριν , τότε
μπορεί να
ακυρώσει το
διορισμό του .

I saw Mr Catt in my clinic in St Albans today. As you know he has had a long history of oesophageal problems since a spontaneous rupture in 2007. He was under the care of Jeremy Livingstone for a long time and has now drifted over to be looked after by myself and Tony Leahy in Watford. He has had numerous oesophageal dilatations and steroid injections and a couple of weeks ago we inserted his second biodegradable stent.
I saw him in clinic today to check how he is doing and am pleased to report his swallowing is now perfect since the stent went in. One could be very optimistic and suggest that this might represent a cure to his 6 year long problem, and I certainly would hope that that would be the case, but we have to bear in mind he has had a stent before and numerous dilatations and he often experiences short-term relief of his symptoms before his swallowing deteriorates again.
I have arranged to have another look down just before he goes on holiday to Italy for 6 weeks with a view to dilatation him if necessary, but if he is completely well before then he can cancel his appointment.
