The switch has just closed, so an ExH TEM signal advances at the speed of light (for the
medium) towards the long one turn transformer. Some of it has entered the
transformer, but at that instant the galvanometer on the right measures zero,
so falsifying the equation v=-d(phi)/dt, and with it falsifying the whole of classical (text
book) electromagnetic theory, which says that the galvanometer will measure a
voltage proportional to the rate of entry (or change) of electric field into
the secondary of the transformer. That is, classical electromagnetic theory
would truthfully describe a universe where there was instantaneous action at a

Why did I not see this until after 60 years working
on electromagnetic theory? Because of the late Graham Catt’s observation; “The

Society needs to preserve a pyramidal structure, and so devises more and more
parrot tests so that first of all many drop out of the final structure and fill
the lower roles in society, while ever less “students” succeed in feeding back
(in examinations) more and more complicated parroted “information”. Like
DHJPPE, I had been painstakingly brainwashed
DHJPPT have proved they are excellent parrots, and
could not possibly see through the ever more complex fundamentals, (particularly
mathematical,) of what they had been trained to parrot towards
the end of their academic career, with their PhD “research”, which they
achieved by successfully embroidering previous “knowledge”. For
instance. they might discover a new particle,

It took me “only” 60 tears to realise that classical
electromagnetic theory could be falsified much more easily than in my

The reason why I broke out of the parrot corral and
they could not was not, as has been suggested, because I am a genius, but that
my “education” had been sufficiently disrupted by going to so many schools in
so many countries, and worse, having a gap when I did national service, and in
the death of my Cambridge tutor in electricity, who was not replaced fast
enough. Electricity was hardly mentioned in my university course in what was called
“Mechanical Science”.
